Support the Walk Now for Autism Speaks - Toronto Walk June 26 2011

Please join us in supporting the "Walk NOW for Autism Speaks". This year it will take place Sunday, June 26, 2011 at Nathan Phillips Square.

Autism affects many families including my own. My son, Jace, was diagnosed with Autism when he was two years old. I found myself lost,what is Autism? What will the future hold for my son and family. These are questions that most families do not have to think about. When you have a child your dreams and aspiration of the future are positive, exciting. Instead of dreams and hopes we felt lost and scared. We had to learn how to help our child and how to deal with the changes to our family life. Jace is now 10 and there is not a day in my life that I do not worry about him. I worry about dying all the time. Who will care for my incredible child. I worry about people not understand his behaviours or being rude to him. We all love our children and hope for the best in their futures. That is why our families and friends are walking on Sunday June 26th, 2011. Please support our family team Jace's Pace! We're walking for our son Jace.

You can help Autism Speaks (/www.autismspeaks.ca) build a better future for families like mine that live with the challenges of autism every day.  Every 20 minutes, another child is diagnosed with autism -- that's 3 or 4 in the time it will take us to walk on Sunday June 26th, 2011.
